Does Scooter Really Save Money for Good?

6:17 AM

When I was looking for an alternative mode of transportation for gratifying my hobby on vehicle community and also it can combat the rise in fuel prices, my friend told me that buying a scooter is the way to go. Does scooter really save my money for good? Well, I found a lot of reasons for getting one after searching all amazing information about scooters.

Hundreds of companies and brands offer different types of motor scooters. They are available in different styles, colors, and sizes. Depending on model and manufacturer prices of scooters can vary. Some companies offer affordable prices and discounts, enabling us to make huge savings on motor scooters.

I can find motor scooters easily such Honda, Suzuki, Vespa or Yamaha that can actually keep up the traffic, climb hills easily, carry more than one person easily, and even if necessary, use the freeway. Scooters are great in the city where I can avoid the traffic jams, find a small parking spot and save on my parking costs as well. There are definitely a whole lot of good things to consider when I go to the option of buying and riding a motor scooter.

Scooters are cheap. They're also easy to use and operate. I can say that scooters are economical! It's absolutely right because I can save my money at the fuel pump since their small tanks don't require a lot of gas. Their 4-stroke engines are very fuel-efficient and can get up to 100 miles per gallon. Lastly, they can be operated on roads and streets legally. At some scooter dealers you can find the best deals on scooters. You will find cheap scooter deals for under $1000 and you can get them shipped anywhere in your country.

One popular scooter brand is Vespa. Vespa is an Italian built scooter manufactured by Piaggio. Over the years, Vespa's have evolved from single model scooters to a full line of scooters that will satisfy even for the pickiest consumer. Vespa is one of the best scooter brands with its fashionable and innovative designs. Vespa often create new improvements including their incredible gas mileage. With the ozone depleting and gas prices rising, thousands are turning to the scooter as a convenient alternative to other automobiles.

The company has also released a version of the Vespa that is a hybrid gas/electric for even economical fuel. These cheap gas scooters are also introduced with a scooter, which has two wheels in front, and one in back which grips the road better. As you know, with all its features, they become cheap Vespa scooters. This version of the scooter has taken off and is now being copied by motorcycle makers alike. Scooters may all seem the same, but they are all very different and you will want to choose the right one for your lifestyle.

Scooters Australia is one of my favorite scooters dealers in Australia. With their service, I can make a deal for my scooter easily with cheaper cost. First when I don't know much about scooter world, they tell me a lot of information how to choose the best scooter and I like what they did to me. Perhaps you can use their service too.

With its cheap and economical usage, I can join a scooter club in my country. It's very amazing to have experience by using my scooter around all club's activities. Even I don't need to worry for my fuel cost since scooter is cheap in it and I can use my money for modification in design and style however I want because it's unique motorcycle. For summary, scooters are really good and economical and I love my scooter!

Motorcycling Tips - Why You Need Protective Gear When Riding Your Bike

6:17 AM

Riding the motorcycle is one of the most feared and the most exciting experience that you can encounter in your life. Even as a passenger, you can really feel everything as you hit the road. Your bodies exposed to various external factors like the wind, the dust, other people and other vehicles. The excitement comes from the fact that there are no barriers. Nothing stands in between you and the wonderful sites that you will encounter. The fear mostly comes from the idea of exposing the vulnerabilities of the driver into the open. Unlike cars, when you crash, the impact on the driver is delayed due to the chassis. In motorcycle, it can get right through the driver and the passenger.

This is why it is very important for various drivers to know the right protective equipments that you need to wear while driving. Yes, some driver might think they are cool enough to drive without these items but definitely, this is not ideal. The goal of having them around is to minimize the impact to the body, when in contact of blows, pressure or even heat. When accidents arise, it is not doubt that you will be thanking yourself for wearing these things.

Leather Motorcycle Gloves

You need this to protect your hands from getting calluses while driving. On top of that, it improves your grip to the controls and it cushions your hand as it moves the accelerator. It is also an added insulator to keep your hands warm on those cold, chilly nights.

Helmet

The goal of wearing this is to protect the head from various kinds of trauma. Your head is one of the most important parts of your body. When it hits hard on the ground, you can break your neck or shake the insides that can cause possible paralysis or respiratory arrest. You can even end up dead on the spot without it.

Leather Jackets

This is not some just fashion statement or a stereotyped clothing for riding motorcycles. This is also your protection from your body. As much as possible, you need to avoid using ordinary jackets because in case of a simple crash, these items easily rip apart. Thus, you will be incurring wounds of all sorts.

Boots

Footwear of leather materials are usually advised to protect your feet while you are traveling. Since there will be no outer casing to protect your body from the flying pebble or stones that gets flicked along the way, you should be finding the best shoes to use and boots are the right pairs. Just like your leather motorcycle gloves, they can also keep your feet warm during cold weather or even at night.

Sunglasses

When driving a motorcycle you usually are exposed to dust and dirt that gets into your eye. You do not want this to happen because it can be a nuisance at times. Find the right pair that can protect your eyes as well as help you see when the sun becomes too glaring.

An Overview Of The Best Motorcycles Clothing

6:17 AM

One of the essential parts of preparing to ride a motorcycle is ensuring that you have the right motorcycles clothing on hand. These pieces of clothing are something which every motorcyclist needs to invest some time and money in acquiring in order to protect themselves on the road; despite what you may have thought, it's not just for looks.

Leather motorcycles clothing is intended to protect riders from injury if they get into an accident. Leather is a lot tougher than other fabrics and certainly tougher than skin, which can prevent 'road rash' and even disfiguring injury in the event of an accident.

Now that you know leather is the way to go, you're ready to start shopping for your own motorcycle clothing. There are a lot of different choices out there - some gear is indispensable, while other pieces can be safely passed up, at least by beginning riders. However, a leather motorcycle jacket is an essential item for those who will be riding a motorcycle.

A jacket is a vital piece of motorcycle leather clothing and provides protection to much of your body. Covering the back, the chest, arms and midsection, a jacket can prevent a lot of damage to your skin. While this is the most expensive part of a set of motorcycles clothing, no motorcyclist can afford to be without a good leather motorcycle jacket.

Next most important is a good pair of leather gloves. These, obviously will keep your hands safe from harm while also helping you to get a firm grip on the handlebars of your motorcycle (they'll also keep your hands nice and warm on your rides). Having your hands and arms covered also prevents injury from any debris which may fly up from the road.

Leather chaps are also an important part of an outfit of motorcycle leather clothing. Just as your jacket will protect your torso, chaps protect your legs in case of an accident, as well as providing protection from flying debris. Riding a motorcycle is not the safest activity in the world, so it's important to wear the right gear and protect yourself as well as possible.

Safety is the most important thing to consider about riding a motorcycle. You'll need a jacket and gloves at minimum and chaps are certainly a wise investment as well. When you're in an accident, you won't care how you look - so make sure that you're well protected with motorcycle leather clothing before you get out on the open road and ride.

Discover the Hottest Leather Motorcycle Racing Jacket in 2009

6:17 AM

Wow, here it is the year 2009 already and yet another season of motorcycle fun is just around the corner. Time for us to enjoy a plethora of Moto-cross events, Drag races, and Hill climbs. Swap meets and just about anything you can imagine that happens on two wheels.

So what is going to be the coolest in the hot Leather Motorcycle Racing Jacket market?
That varies from year to year and sometimes even within a season depending on exactly who is wearing what and what success they have in the sport. But with colorful leathers becoming the norm, it can be anything from basic black to who knows what.

The best way to stay up on these trends is simple. You can take a physical trip into your favorite motorcycle or leather store and see what they are showcasing. Of course, this will leave you open to being biased by the shop or the brand that is being featured and I sometimes find it hard to be objective when a sales person is there telling me that this is the only thing that will be making an impact this season. Or you can visit the trusty Internet at home and form your own opinion after researching all the options.

I usually find that I do a better job of being happy with a purchase after I research it to death and know that what I am getting is what I want and not what some pushy sales person said I want. That is going to be extremely true when you are dealing with looking for a new Leather Motorcycle Racing Jacket.

You can see who is wearing what, look at where the trends are heading on color and actual styling. Is this year going to be the traditional motorcycle leather in Purple and pink accents or maybe a tailored bomber style in weathered brown?

It is so much easier on line to go over literally thousands of different styles that claim they are going to be hot. You can narrow down what you like and research those styles until you have exactly what you are after in the comfort of your own home. You can search for the Leather Motorcycle Racing Jacket of your dreams with your favorite beverage at four in the morning than it is in a noisy shop where you are being bombarded with the opinion of the clerk.

Yes, a visit to them is something to consider. But do it AFTER you have looked at what is out there and formed an opinion. You can see what shops actually carry that brand and go there to physically see what it looks like. Go armed with your Internet research and even price quotes from on line.

Tell them you are looking for a Leather Motorcycle Racing Jacket and are there after doing online research. Try them on and then when you are sure it is the one for you. The one that is going to make you the hottest thing on the circuit in 2009 and jacket that makes the statement you want it to make. After that, ask them to match the Internet pricing.

One of two things will happen, they will tell you no and escort you out the door or they will do it. Either way you are no worse off and if they match the price, you are good to go and saved a couple days wait on the item.

Scooter Safety, Safety Considerations to Keep in Mind While Riding

6:17 AM

Electric scooters, electric mopeds, or electric moped motorcycles are fun and exiting for adults and children of all ages, either for alternative transportation or recreational purposes. As fun as riding a scooter might be there is one very important thing for any cyclist to keep in mind, and that is scooter safety.

There are two basic safety considerations that every cyclist must be aware of to minimize the possible risk of any accident or injury.

The first safety consideration every cyclist needs to be aware of is proper safety gear. The most important piece of safety gear for example would be a helmet. More cyclists die every year from head related injuries than any other type of injury. This is because someone did not wear a helmet.

If you ever have watched a motocross race you would have noticed that all the racers wore a helmet. Not only do they wear helmets, but they also wear a protective suit. Although the motocross race example might be a bit extreme it is a dangerous sport and nothing can be better than a safety helmet and a protective suit to go with it while racing.

The second safety consideration is knowing the rules of the road. Here are just a couple of them while riding.

If your electric scooter, electric moped, or electric moped motorcycle has turn signals on it, use them. Turn signals are important because other motorists have a better idea of knowing your intentions as to which way you are turning and possibly when.

If you do not have turn signals on your scooter you can use your left arm as a way to signal your turns. To turn left you just hold your left arm straight out. When you turn right you hold your left arm out, bending at the elbow point the rest of your arm and hand straight up. If you are coming to a stop you hold your left arm out, bending at the elbow point the rest of your arm and hand straight down. These same arm signals also apply to motorists.

Approaching intersections on your electric scooter, electric moped, or electric moped motorcycle can be risky. Intersections are the most frequent places where fatalities take place. The number one reason given by motorists is that they did not see the cyclist.

When approaching an intersection and there are other vehicles approaching, always assume they will not stop. Even if they have a stop sign telling them to stop, you must assume they will run the stop sign. Let's face it, the car or truck has way more metal protection than you do.

Exercising this kind of defensive riding attitude will keep you safer and will enhance the joy of riding your electric scooter, electric moped, or electric moped motorcycle.

To summarize, if you have plans of purchasing any kind of scooter, bicycle, or motorcycle for your children, yourself and/or your spouse, consider purchasing safety clothing and equipment such as helmets, knee pads and elbow pads. Secondly, educate yourself and loved ones about the rules of the road. In fact, it would not hurt to check with your local motor vehicle division in your town about motorcycle driver training. The training can apply to scooters as well. Meanwhile, happy shopping for that electric scooter, electric moped, or electric moped motorcycle and enjoy riding it safely.

Have a visit to Motor shops in Chicago

6:17 AM

A genius person will always consult others or get information through reading before preferring any material. Since all the things are not known to every body it is better to get advice from some appropriate person. If you are about to buy any motor cycle then never miss to read this article. Lend be your ears gentle men and women for few second so that you are not confused much while selecting the shop for buying the vehicles. There are some chances for us to get mesmerized by the words of the dealers so be cautious about it. Here we are suggesting few well known motor shops which have won heart of millions of customers in the Chicago city.

 Different types of available services
 Two vehicle safety measures accessories

Different types of available services:
In this we are going to discuss about the few leading motor cycle shops and service centre in the in and around locale of the Chicago city. Most of us assume that when we hear the word service it is just done periodically in order to have our bike or vehicle in condition. But we fail to remember that these services apart from the usual condition are also done in some emergency cases where its action speaks more loudly than the words. In case of an accident few service centers provide options for the customer to check it out in the accidental spot if it is near by. Some small replacement of parts and minor chances can be done at that place to vacate the vehicle from that spot then whole repair is done at either in the place of customer or in the service centre depending on the requirement.

Two vehicles safety measure accessories:
A recent survey states that the number of accidents is high in the case of two wheelers than in the case of gigantic auto. So it is always essential to make necessary actions top break this problem. All motor shops should recommend their customers to buy accessories like helmet etc to protect them from severe injuries and few shops have also declared these safety accessories as free on purchase of motors. But never get attracted to such offers and buy a poor quality one since these are very critical substances which play mightier role.

Get Yourself a Snowmobile

6:17 AM

Get Yourself a Snowmobile

So you have seen a few snowmobilers racing and have decided that is what you would like to do as well? The lure of snow racing, trail following and mountain climbing is calling to you stronger by the minute. You have been undecided that a snowmobile is what you must invest in next, but are now wondering about making a decision to buy one.

Suppose you have decided to get a cabin far from the maddening crowd and finally reach the place and get snowed in, it is not going to make for a very nice holiday by being stranded miles away from civilization. It is for this reason that you must also invest in a snowmobile when you invest in your dream cabin. It will make the experience of exploring the woods much easier on a polaris snowmobile or if you prefer a yamaha snowmobile. As with all good things in life you get to make a choice between many kinds of snowmobiles for sale.

If you are looking for snowmobiles for sale look no farther. You have reached the right site and it will be our pleasure to help you out with picking out the right snowmobile for your needs. On the other hand if you have a polaris snowmobile or a yamaha snowmobile and are looking to sell them, we can help you with that as well. We deal in used snowmobiles and help owners and new users alike.

If you have no clue about a snowmobile here's a few things that you should know before you head over to check out potential snowmobiles for sale. A snowmobile is a vehicle which runs on continuous tracks. It is a land vehicle which is steered with the help of the skis it has in front. The snowmobiles used to have tracks made of rubber but the design was prone to problems and now the typical snowmobile is made with tracks of Kevlar composite. A snowmobile will travel over snow and ice and does not need a road like a car does or tracks like a train does. This gives it added maneuverability in far flung areas adding to the snowmobiles appeal.

While snowmobiles were originally powered by internal combustion two stroke engines, these days the snowmobiles with four stroke engines are catching on. So in your available snowmobiles for sale, pick one which is four stroke to get the additional power that such a snowmobile will offer as opposed to a two stroke machine. Remember you will be driving this machine in an area where your nearest neighbour will not be in line of sight and you should not try and be stingy while picking up a snowmobile.

Naturally the manufacturing companies also add a few cosmetic changes in the basic design of the snowmobiles to gain an added advantage and you should not get taken in be seat covers when the machine's engine might have a problem. Make sure that you do your research and insist on a trial run in the snowmobile if possible before making the down payment.

Why Good Motorbike Helmets Are Important

6:17 AM

Remember the first time you rode a motorbike? You probably loved feeling the wind in your hair and enjoying all of the sights and sound that the road has to offer. However, you know that this is dangerous and as a responsible adult, you know that you need to protect yourself - if you want to feel the wind in your hair, you should get out on a bicycle trail, not on your motorbike. To make sure that you're well protected on the road, you'll need good motorbike helmets.

What makes for good motorbike helmets anyways? Even if you've always worn a helmet, you may not be sure exactly what constitutes a good one. What you'll need to do is start by researching a little about them. What style are you interested in? You probably want to avoid those old style beanie helmets -they may look good, but offer very little if any protection if you were to get into an accident.

Modular motorbike helmets, often called three quarter helmets are another choice. These are not the very safest type, since they do leave your face unprotected, but they do a good job of protecting every other part of your head. If your glasses are a problem with face plate-featuring helmets or you just won't ride if you can't feel the wind in your face, you may want to choose this style. However, it will leave your face unprotected, so keep this in mind.

By far the safest type of motorbike helmet is the full face helmet. These are like modular motorbike helmets, but with the addition of a face plate. You can raise and lower this shield, so even eating and drinking are possible while wearing the helmet (note: NEVER do either of these things while actually riding!). These helmets protect your entire head including your face, so they are a great choice for any rider. They also insulate your hearing from engine noise as well as offering a little protection from the sun's UV rays.

Remember that there is no such thing as good motorbike helmets which have been previously used. New is the only way to go here - you can never tell if the helmet has been damaged and will no longer protect your head; always, always, always buy new - this cannot be stressed enough.

It can be easy to find a good motorbike helmet, however so don't despair. Just do your homework and choose one which will provide a high level of protection while meeting your other criteria. Having the right motorbike helmet will make your riding more comfortable and safe - and safety should always come first when you ride.

Five Important Features of Your Motorcycle Gears

6:17 AM

Although riding motorcycles is fun, it can be dangerous. Many associate motorcycles with danger. This is because you do not have a lot of protection when you are on it. You only rely on motorcycle gears for safety. This makes it necessary for you to pick the right motorcycle gears. Not all helmets have the ability to protect your head. Some easily breaks.

You have to be specific with your needs as well. Even if you have the best leather gloves, if it is not winter motorcycle gloves, you will not find it useful during the cold weather. You will not appreciate great motorcycle boots in the rain as well, if it is not water resistant.

Below are some of the features that you should look for a particular gear:

1. It has to be flexible. There are several types of motorcycle gears available today. There are those you can use during the summer. You can also purchase one for the rainy seasons as well. It would be very impractical to buy one for each weather type. Aside from that, it is likely to rain even in a sunny day. Purchase one that you can use in various weather conditions. It will help you feel at ease during each trip.

2. It has to be sturdy. This sets the motorcycle gears apart from the rest of the ordinary items we wear. Although you can use slippers during a motorcycle ride, it is not tough enough to protect you. You can injure your feet while on the road. In addition, it does not have the material to protect your feet during a crash.

3. It should be long lasting. Gears should be durable. You should be able to depend on your gears. All gears need proper maintenance but aside from the care you give, it should be able to withstand the tough elements on the road.

4. It has to be comfortable. Remember, although motorcycles are exciting, it can also be very comfortable. Imagine how it would feel like if you were riding the motorcycle for two hours. You will be stuck in one position. Although you can stop to rest, it would not be enough to relax your weary muscles. Comfortable gears can make the trip more enduring.

5. It should be able to protect you during your ride. Safety gears are important because they shield you during an accident. However, they should be able to protect you even when you are going on a smooth trip. It can get extremely cold. The gears you are wearing should be able to protect you from environmental elements. The leather jackets, winter motorcycle gloves, travel suits, and motorcycle boots should keep you warm and prevent hypothermia from taking place.

The most important thing when purchasing motorcycle gears is to check everything about it. See to it that the materials used are of high quality. It has to be well made. The stitches should be able to attach the parts together well. You should also try the gears on. You have to be comfortable when wearing them. Most importantly, the gears should be tough enough to protect you.

Honda Fury first look review

6:17 AM

First let me just say wooooow. I had not been keeping up with any of the new stuff going on with Honda and then out of the blue I get my Cycleworld magazine in the mail and there on the front cover was a picture of the new Honda Fury. For years I have been riding Honda's and making cheap modifications to each bike, there are several groups of cheap people like me who are out there customizing riceburners. Alot of bikers out there like to say we are Harley wanabes but I can assure you that is not the case, as a young man a bought rice burners because that is what I could afford but as I got older and made enough money I bought riceburners because they are realiable and I have grown to love them. Now looking at this new Fury I am full of ideas of what I could do to it. I am not sure how this bike will be percieved but as for me I love it and it is deffinatly on my short list for my next bike. Yes all the Harley lovers out there are going to put this bike down but we all cant make the money you make to afford the Harley name. Honda is a great product very reliable and affordable I am glad to see them taking a risk with a new bike like this hopefully thier will be a strong after market parts support for the Furry. If you searched the internet you can find several people who build there own custom Honda choopers my number one pick would be the old CB750 four choopers and there is even a few people out there who have chopped the more recent Honda Shadow VLX. So I know there is a market out there for this bike we just need to see where the price ends up. Well thas my two cents hopefully I will be writing a review on how the Fury rides this time next year.

A Review of the Most Popular Motorcycle Leather Clothing

6:17 AM

When it comes to getting yourself ready for a motorcycle ride, there is nothing more important then investing some time and money into getting yourself set up with the right Motorcycle Leather Clothing. While some people believe that the leather worn by those on motorcycles is just so they can look cool, it is really not true.

The reason behind wearing the leather is to protect their skin from the pavement should they become involved in a motorcycle accident. Although an accident is never good, no matter how much leather you have on, leather is much tougher then any other material so your skin is less likely to be scrapped up terribly.

So now that you know what the reason is behind the leather worn by those on motorcycles, it is time to start doing a little shopping of your own. With so many leather clothing options out there though, it can be hard to pick out exactly what you can't live without and the items you can pass up on for the time being. By far the most popular and most necessary article of clothing made from leather is that of the leather jacket.

The jacket is the Motorcycle Leather Clothing piece, which is the most popular and the most beneficial. This is probably due to the fact that it covers such a large portion of your body. Your back, chest, stomach, and arms are protected from the harsh feel of the pavement. Although they can be pricey the jacket is certainly a must have for anyone riding a motorcycle.

The next most popular thing would probably be that of the leather gloves. Just as you want to protect your arms from getting messed up from the pavement, you want to protect your hands as well. These gloves will not only protect your hands from danger but they will also help you keep a firm grip on the bars and allow your hands to keep warm. Also, by having your hands and arms covered, they are protected from any cuts from debris that is kicked up from other vehicles.

Leather chaps are starting to become a popular purchase out of all of the various kinds of Motorcycle Leather Clothing. While many people may not see them as stylish looking, they will protect the legs just as the jacket protects the arms and chest. With all of the debris that could be kicked up towards you at any moment, your legs can be somewhat protected by the leather chaps. Since riding a motorcycle is a dangerous hobby, it is important to make sure that you are being smart about it and picking up everything that you can to better protect yourself.

Be it the jacket, the gloves, or the chaps, make sure that you are getting what you need to feel as safe as possible. Being safe is certainly much more important then how you look or being stylish. Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R Crotch Rocket - Sport Bike - Motorcycle - Review

6:17 AM

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R motorcycle is a top-of-the-line crotch rocket. As one of the most popular crotch rockets or sport bikes in the motorcycle category it is probably most well known for its speed. It came into this world in 1999 and with ongoing testing it was the fastest production motorcycle in the world.

It enjoyed an excellent reputation among sport bikes however in 2000 the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers decided that they would have to change some of the specs. They were worried about the regulation that was bound to happen among various governments and they didn't want to have any problems.

So in 2001 and the following years through 2008, they added what is called a timing retard to the fifth gear and a rev limiter. This changed the maximum speed to 186 mph from the 198mph that was enjoyed on the earlier model.

It has six gears however most will keep it in third pretty much for tooling around town and up to 60 mph on the local tracks.

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R has a cool 3-way switch on the right handle bar. Choices are - one for full power and response and the other two switches reduce action and output.

And of course - it's a crotch rocket so you're going to be sitting close to the ground. It sits a little lower than some other models and the bars are not as narrow. But most crotch rocket lovers like this.

The translation of Hayabusa from the Japanese language is peregrine falcon. Thee peregrine falcon can travel faster than 200 mph. This Suzuki motorcycle certainly meets that definition.

In 2008 the crotch rockets or sport bike competition soared when the BMW K120S and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R were brought to the marketplace.

Suzuki is no longer called the GSX1300R in some countries because Suzuki dropped it and they call it simply the Hayabusa.

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R can go a quarter mile in 9.62 seconds at 149 mph. It can go from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds and from 0-180 in 15.9 seconds.

The 2009 models come in white and silver, black and gray, black and gold and silver and gray. In 2008 the Hayabusa sold for $12,000 or so. Although now, individual deals can be made with local dealers. And if you're lucky enough to find a used Hayabusa that's not all beat up, that's good too and can save you a lot of money.

So if you're thinking about buying a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R sportbike you'll get a high performance motorcycle - sport bike or crotch rocket that you'll be proud to own, do endless motorcycle stunts and wheelies and love to ride! But don't buy this crotch rocket - motorcycle as your first bike. Repairs can be expensive and one spill can end up causing a lot of damage. Get a used older bike and practice on that unless you're an experienced rider now.

Uses of the Different Motorcycle Gears

6:17 AM

Motorcycle gears are very important for riders. It is part of his responsibility to secure the necessary equipments. It is true that you can ride even without these gears. However, it will not ensure your safety. The gears will not only protect you as you ride. You also need them to make it more comfortable. It protects you from the wind and other external factors like rain and debris on the road.

If you ride motorcycles, you have to wear safety gears. Among the gears you should never ride without are the helmet, eye gear, gloves, jackets, men's leather chaps, and boots. You will need these gears for various reasons. Here are some:

1. The helmet protects the most important part of your body, which is your head. It is very important because it can save your life during a collision. There are different types of helmet. These are the full size motorcycle helmets, three quarter shell, and the half-shell motorcycle helmets. What you choose mostly depends on your preference and the kind of riding you do.

2. Eye gear is very important even if you are wearing full size helmets. This is to protect your eyes to enable you to see well. You know how important vision is. If you cannot see clearly, you might crash into the different items on the road. You will also need eye protection from the wind and different external elements that can get in your eyes.

3. You will also need motorcycle gloves. Like the helmets, there are also various types of gloves. This usually depends on the weather. Summer gloves are different from winter gloves. The gloves should be able to protect your hands and wrists. It should not slip your hands at any time of your travel. It should also keep your hands warm but not sweaty.

4. Motorcycle jackets are also necessary. Although there are different materials used for this type of gear, the leather remains to be the best. The jacket should be able to keep you warm during the trip. You have to pick durable jacket at the same time because it has to protect your skin when there is an accident. It will also help if the materials used are waterproof and windproof.

5. You will also need sturdy pair of boots. It should protect your feet and ankle. It would be best if you choose those that cover the ankles. Just like the rest of the gears, it has to be the right fit. If it is loose, it can slip off your feet. If it is too tight, it can stop the flow of blood to your feet, which can cause it to numb.

Motorcycle gears are very valuable for riders. Each gear protects a specific part of the body. There are gears such as men's leather chaps that can add protection. When looking for the right gears, make sure that they are made of high quality materials. They should also be the right fit. No matter how expensive the gear is, if it does not fit right, it will not give the driver maximum protection.

What To Be Aware of When Choosing Leather Motorcycle Jackets

6:17 AM

When you're trying to pick out just one from among the huge number of leather motorcycle jackets out there, you'll need to look for a few different things. One is the quality of the leather used - obviously, you want a jacket which is going to last. While quality leather means a higher price, it's well worth the extra expense.

You need to remember that quality means more safety and more comfort, so don't be scared off by a higher price tag. It's important to go for the best quality that you can get with leather motorcycle jackets; this is an investment in your safety and comfort as you ride. Storage is also something you need to think about when looking for a jacket.

It's true; having plenty of zippered pockets for storage in your jacket is important. You'll need all the space you can, since there's really nowhere else to put things when you're on a motorcycle. Because of this, the full jacket is by far the most popular style of leather motorcycle jacket.

A full jacket is a must-have for every motorcyclist; it provides protection to the entire upper body as well as the arms. Your jacket will shelter you from the elements as well as keeping your skin protected from impact with the pavement if you get into an accident. A full jacket is an absolute necessity for any rider.

There are also vests, which are called half jackets by some. These are extremely comfortable, but offer nowhere near the level of protection offered by full leather motorcycle jackets. However, as long as you pick a high quality full jacket which is the right size for you, it can be very comfortable as well. Vests cannot protect your arms from wind, rain or 'road rash' as the result of an accident.

Buying leather clothing for your motorcycle riding is about more than finding items which will look stylish - it is the comfort and protection the gear provides which is truly important. The reason why some brands and styles are more popular than others is usually because of quality, not looks.

Choose your motorcycle wear carefully, since this clothing is meant to protect you and keep you comfortable as you ride. Get measured to make sure that you are buying the right size and be sure to ask questions of the staff at the shop, since their expertise can be very helpful to you as you shop.

Listen to their suggestions and carefully consider each piece you look at. Your choice of leather clothing for motorcycle riding is an important one, so go with the best quality you can get and listen to the advice of the professionals.

6:17 AM

There are many leather motorcycle racing suits on the market today that you can purchase for your time on your bike. You should be sure that you are comfortable in one of these suits before you decide to buy one.

The style of these leather motorcycle racing suits are varied and you can often find one that will look great on you. However, it is important that you see what you look like in one before you decide to shell out the money to buy one. Take some time and try them on when you are shopping for your leathers. Even if you don't decide to buy one, you can often find other items that will suit your style better.

There are many leather items that you can wear while you are riding that will offer you the same kind of protection as a leather racing suit. Take a look online at all of the items that you can wear while riding to find the best look for you.

The serious motorcycle racer is more inclined to wear leather motorcycle racing suits while they are riding. They are not usually worn by the casual rider. If you spend your motorcycle riding time involved in racing, this might be the right look for you. The suits provide protection and comfort for while you are involved in racing. The casual rider doesn't necessarily need the same amount of protection while they are riding. If you plan to spend your time on the motorcycle riding through the countryside, you should consider a more casual look.

Those who are interested in dirt bike racing, will also find a suit a more appropriate leather to wear while riding. There is some danger of falling off the bike when you are riding a dirt bike and the suit will keep you from hurting your skin when you have an accident. Of course, having the right kind of protection while you are performing this dangerous sport is essential for everyone who is involved.

Determine when and how you will be riding your motorcycle to figure out if these suits are the right choice for you. What kind of rider you are or plan to be is usually a good indication of the kind of leathers you should wear when riding.

Not everyone is comfortable wearing these high performance suits. But for those who take their racing seriously, it is quite normal to wear them. When you take a look at what the other riders are wearing in your races, you will find that most of them will be wearing the protective leather gear. It is the ideal way to make sure that you are well protected while racing. Ventilated leather is also an important consideration when you are wearing one of these suits. Remember, leather can get extremely hot and this will decrease the amount of comfort that you have while you are racing.

How to Prepare for a Motorcycle Camping Trip

6:17 AM

Motorcycle camping trips are different from other trips you have with your motorcycle. The major difference is the place where you spend your nights. This is more challenging than going on a regular motorcycle trip because of the planning involved. Apart from that, it is more difficult to find a safe area to spend the night.

It is also more difficult than the usual camping that most friends and families do. With this type of camping, you will have limited gears. You have to bring only the necessary items. This will make the trip even more uncomfortable.

As you may have imagined, motorcycle camping trips are not for everyone. Therefore, before you gear up and wear those men's motorcycle chaps, be certain that you are up for the challenge because this type of activity is only for those who love adventure.

If you want to try it, here are some tips to help you plan:

1. Plan where you are going. This is very important. This will help you identify the gears you need to pack and the number of items you need to bring. If it were your first time to check out the place, it would be better to ask someone who knows the place to join you. If you cannot find anyone, make sure that you research about your destination. What are the possible problems you will encounter? What are the places you need to check?

2. Make a checklist of the gears you need to bring and pack. Just like going for a motorcycle trip, make sure that you pack light. However, you have to bring the items you need when camping. You can checkout portable items that most backpack campers bring. Several light equipments can make your nights comfortable while on camp.

3. Anticipate weather changes and make sure your travel suit is complete. Pack very flexible gears. There are motorcycle gloves that can handle the heat as well as the cold. Bring shirts that you can layer so that you can just wear more shirts when it gets cold. When it is warmer, just remove few layers off. Bring waterproof suits you can wear over your jackets, and pants. You can also wear men's leather chaps for added protection.

4. Plan your campgrounds for your night stay. Not all campgrounds are welcoming for motorcycle campers. This is because there are bikes that tend to be loud. Keep in mind that there are also other campers. Call possible campgrounds and inquire. You do not want to have a problem with where to spend the night when you are dying to rest.

Motorcycle camping is fun. You can visit the places you want to see. However, it takes a lot of planning. Although many love the adventure, you will not appreciate it when you are dead tires and you just want to find a place to relax. To avoid problems during a wonderful trip, make sure that you plan it well. This will make you enjoy it even more.

Are Icon Motorcycle Leather Jackets Right For You?

6:17 AM

Picking the right motorcycle jacket can seem tricky, and maybe even a bit overwhelming. There are just so many styles out there. But once you find that jacket, you'll know, and you'll love it for years.

One jacket brand that seems to have become a synonym with 'different' is Icon. Icon Motorcycle Leather Jackets vary greatly from other jackets, and from each other. Icon makes jackets, vests, and gloves, and their styles can go with anything from street bikes and racers, to hogs. It all depends on what you are looking for. Icon makes lots of jackets for both men and women. Ladies, if you are tired of the sites that have hundreds of jackets, but only three of them are for you, maybe you should give Icon a look.

You can find almost any style when looking for an Icon jacket. If you're looking for something that is Icon, but other than that is mostly plain, they have these. You can get a jacket that is a certain color and all it says is 'Icon' on the front. For racers and attention-hounds, they have a wide variety of very loud colors and designs that will grab the attention of anyone within half a mile. Often, you can even find a jacket to match your bike. For moto riders, they have a line just for you. Then, for those of us that have a bone to pick with society, they have Icon motorcycle leathers with skulls and lots of scary imagery. Also, if you have a favorite motorcycle brand, such as Suzuki, they have some jackets with the logo on it, alongside the Icon logo.

Icon Motorcycle Leather Jackets have a great reputation for being a solid brand, and worth the money spent. They generally offer plenty of well-placed armor and padding, along with mesh for good ventilation. Depending on the style, particularly their moto line, some of their jackets also come with gathered leather at the shoulders for a wide range of motion. Nobody wants to be trying to ride, race, or do tricks, and suddenly their jacket binds up on them. It is painful, and never conducive to whatever you're doing.

Many users are thrilled with the results they get from their jackets. They report that the jackets are durable, lasting for many years if cared for. They are well ventilated in the summer, and the removable liners keep them warm in the cooler months. Those riders who have laid their bikes down or had other incidents while wearing their Icon jackets have reported some bruising, but little damage otherwise.

Icon Motorcycle Leather Jackets are some of the hottest items on the market. A quick search online will bring you a very long list of places to look. They come in a wide range of prices, so no matter what your budget, you should be able to find something that suits you. With most leather jackets, you can step back and wonder if they have enough attitude to merit you wearing it. With Icon, you may need to be asking if you have enough attitude to merit it.

150 MPG On A Gas Bicycle

6:17 AM

Today more than ever people are looking to save money on transportation. As the cost of gasoline continues to rise you will see more vehicles designed to be less fuel thirsty to requiring no fuel at all. One of these vehicles that are starting to become popular and very affordable are motorized bicycles. These are fully functional bicycles that have engines attached to them and get up to 150 miles per gallon. I have been seeing them sporadically around town and they always catch my eye as they wiz by. They are usually on simple beach cruisers and mountain bikes with riders of all ages.

In the summer of 2008 during the peak of the gas prices, I decided to build a motorized bicycle. I had recently purchased a mountain bike and decided to put one of these 2-cycle engine kits on my mountain bike, which took many hours to complete. The build was challenging for me as I have never done this before, but rewarding because of the joy it is to ride.

Also not needing a license to ride these motorized bicycles was a plus, as I wanted to avoid dealing with licensing. What is required in order to ride a motorized bike is that you be 16 years of age or older and always wear a helmet. So, now when I want to get around town I can jump on the bike and go for a cruise. The motor does not take away the functionality of the bicycle.

I can pedal the bicycle with the motor turned off just as if it were a normal bicycle, or when I get tired of pedaling turn the motor on. This is possible because the motor has a separate drive chain from the normal bicycle chain. This feature is important to me because I can get exercise when I want and not have to switch bicycles. Riding the bike without the motor on is also important when you are in areas that don't allow them or quiet areas. Operation of these bikes is really simple and requires you to pedal and release the clutch while giving it throttle to turn the motor on.

To turn the motor off you just disengage the clutch and push the engine kill button, that's it. They are single speeds and come with a standard 44-tooth rear sprocket, which is the best for all around riding. These bikes can be easily modified to go faster, but with the standard 44-tooth sprockets you can reach speeds of 20+ mph even with riders weighing 260 pounds, very impressive! I now can leave my car parked more because I have an alternate means of transportation and most importantly I am not spending as much in gasoline, which makes me feel like I made a wise investment.

1000 miles later the motorized bicycle is still running great and has proven to be bulletproof. Maintenance has been light and simple as it is continuing to prove to be a great investment. I also found some great support info through a company in Northern California who sells assembled motorized bicycles and ships nationwide. On their support page they have frequently asked question that are very informative. For question they also have a live chat area and other ways to contact them. They also touch on the significance of the green affect you will have on the environment riding one of these small engine bicycles instead of driving when possible.

Valuable Tips in Choosing Motorcycle Protective Gear

6:18 AM

There is no denying the fact that riding a motorcycle is one of the most exhilarating methods of traveling. Most people love riding motorcycles because of the feel of complete freedom every time they ride it. Although you will feel an invigorating feeling, you cannot disagree that it is extremely dangerous especially without the appropriate gear. Taking the time to pick out some basic gears such as helmets can significantly reduce the risk of severe trauma and injury.

There are a lot of options you can choose from the protective gear available in the market so it is best to learn beforehand what you need to buy before you go shopping. These devices can range from helmets to protective gloves. Other shops even offer Harley Davidson sandals for women who want to make a fashion statement. The following are some tips you can keep in mind to help you make the right choices and buy the best gear that will protect you best.

There are numerous choices for helmets. There are several factors you need to take into account. Size is essential. Find one where your head fits snugly in it. The foam should be able to form and fit your head to provide maximum protection. It is also best to look for a helmet that starts right above your eyebrows when it is on. Anything that is higher will not be able to give adequate protection.

Jackets for motorcycle riding are also important. This gear will keep your arms and torso protected. These jackets are made in two ways, leather and synthetic. Each one has its own benefit and drawbacks. Synthetic jackets are more expensive than leather jackets. Although synthetic jackets provide more protective quality it usually wears out faster than leather. On the other hand, leather jackets are better built and can last for many years. This is also the style preferred by many traditional motorcyclists. The only disadvantage is that it's not waterproof and will not be able to protect you from the cold as much as synthetic jackets.

Boots are also necessary. If you are buying this gear, you have to decide if you will need to walk or not because boots that offer the best protection will usually limit mobility. If you are planning to walk as well, then it is recommended that you find heavy duty boots that are best for cross-country endurance. On the other hand if you plan to go motocross riding, consider using specialized boots that protect a bigger part of the leg. The only disadvantage is that this is not practical for walking. Although there are Harley Davidson sandals available for women, boots are still the best bet you can take to protect your legs and feet.

Gloves for motorcycling should have Kevlar pads on the backs with an extra grip handle on the palms for better control on the motorcycle.

These are only some of the protective gear you need to buy to ensure your safety. You should never neglect this very important step. Make sure that you spend sufficient time to research and try out different types of protective gear before finalizing any decision. Make certain every gear fits well on you but still offer the highest level of protection.

How to Look Your Best When Riding a Motorcycle with the Use of Your Protective Gear

6:18 AM

We all want to look our best no matter what we do. It does not matter what kind of face we have or what body structure we are born with, looking good comes from how you carry yourself. If you think you do not have the prettiest face in town, improve it with the use of cosmetics. You can be appealing by building your own character. This can be reflected on how you wear your clothes and what type of clothes you select together with your attitude.

These tactics can be used if you want to look good driving a bike. No matter what kind of ride it may be, a big one, a sports bike or other types, you can always look good when you wear the appropriate attire. Here are some tips:

Wear a closed helmet. It makes you look mysterious. Everyone who will check you out would wonder who is riding the bike. Is it a woman or man?

Wear a bike suit to protect your clothing. You do not want to be splattered with mud if you happened to pass by a puddle.

Leather clothing and accessories can also be very appealing. Jackets of this type make you cool and well protected. If you wear leather motorcycle riding gloves, it can also make you tough.

Wear appropriate shoes that match your clothing. Boots, depending on their style can always make you look fierce and strong. If you were rubber shoes, it makes you look athletic.

Make sure your ensemble is color coordinated.

If you do not want to wear a helmet, tie your hair or put on some gel on your hair to protect it from the wind. You can also wear dark sunglasses to put some mystery in your look. Light sunglasses can be perfect for night and day and it can also give other people a glimpse of your looks.

If you want to be at your best, it is not only yourself that need prepping. Your motorcycle needs to look good as you do. Here are some reminders:

Make sure you clean it at all times. Free it from all sorts of mud and other dirt that you get from the road.

Wax it. Keep your chassis shiny and bright.

Make sure your bike does not make funny noises. If it does make a sound, it should be music to the ears. How do you do that? Keep the muffler clean.

Keep the smoke emitted as transparent as possible. It is a total turn off to see a bike that is not even eco friendly.

You see the way you get off from your motorcycle, the way you wear your clothing and accessories and the way you take care of your bike, gives you the feeling of looking good. Just learn the art of mixing and matching your jackets, chaps and motorcycle riding gloves. At the same time, be confident and show them what a biker should be. You can let out a WOW in many people even though you are just riding the simplest bike.

How to Buy a Motorcycle

6:18 AM

Riding a motorcycle is a spiritual and emotional experience for many enthusiasts. Motorcycles are not just a quick and convenient way to move around busy streets, but give you the feeling of being more in tune with the open road. Motorcycles are more maneuverable than cars on a busy street, and give you a feeling of freedom when you're out in the highway. If you plan to buy a motorcycle for yourself, here are tips to help you buy one that's built with you in mind.

Motorcycle Types

While some motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors focus on the brand and the heritage of a particular marque of motorcycles, a casual rider should focus on what the motorcycle is for. There are many types of motorcycles available from motorbike dealers:

* Mopeds and scooters are perfect for people who just want to get around town faster and easier. Small and fuel-efficient, a moped or a scooter is sometimes a better option than a car in many big cities.
* Street bikes are also called 'naked bikes' or 'standard bikes.' Street bikes are the most common motorcycles plying roads because they are a good mix of power and value for money.
* Touring bikes are built for people who travel long distances aboard a motorcycle. Touring bikes are wider and larger than street bikes, and are built to carry luggage and to make the rider feel comfortable during cross-country biking trips.
* Choppers and cruisers are popular customized bikes made by enthusiasts from old bikes, or from scratch. Choppers are custom bikes with higher handlebars and larger engines, designed to make riding comfortable as well as make the riding experience very impressive. Cruisers are modeled after popular bikes from the 1960s, and are a lot like choppers, only with lower handlebars.
* Racing bikes are all about speed and performance. The engines of some racing bikes are powerful enough to power a small car, but are maneuverable enough to move through hairpin curves.

Motorcycle Engines

If there's anything you have to pay attention to when buying a bike, it has to be the engine. The engine forms the bulk of the machine, and should take top priority on your choices for a motorcycle. Here are two important pointers you should keep in mind when buying a motorcycle:

* Size. A rule of thumb to follow is that the bigger the engine, the more powerful it is. Don't be fooled by the physical size of the engine; instead, focus on the cubic centimeter (CC) value indicated by the manufacturer. Remember that you don't need to have a really big engine if all you'll do for your motorcycle is travel around quickly and easily through the city streets.
* Noise. Bigger engines have a bigger displacement, which means that you'll have a lot more noise. While you may appreciate the roar of your engine, other people may find it distracting, or that the noise of the engine may disturb other people's peace. If you drive your motorcycle in a densely populated area, you may want to buy a motorcycle with a smaller engine.

Motorcycle Frames

The next thing you have to consider is the size and the weight of the frame. Some riders may like heavy motorcycles, and still others would like light ones. Here are two things you have to remember about motorcycle frames:

* Durability. Motorcycles need to stand the constant stress of engine vibrations, the weight of your body and your cargo, and the shock from driving on the road. Tubular-frame construction is proven to be a durable, lightweight solution to motorcycles, as opposed to solid steel frames.
* Weight. Lightweight motorcycles are preferred for daily driving, although you may need a heavier frame for motorcycles you drive for the long haul. Remember that the frame should be light enough to cruise through the streets, but heavy enough to provide you with the stability you need for long drives.

Price

While motorcycles are cheaper than automobiles, it doesn't mean that you should buy the cheapest one on the showroom. Go through all the models available, and pick the best value for money that best suits your needs. Customized motorcycles are the way to go for the long haul, but you have to pay big money for a quality chopper. You also need to have a good idea of how much you're willing to pay for gasoline, maintenance, and repair jobs.

For motorcycle enthusiasts, the spirit of the open road is always best experienced not with four wheels inside a metal box, but on a motorbike. With these tips to help you choose one, the roar of your new motorcycle will unleash the beast inside of you, and make you one with the highway.
