How to Care for Your Motorcycle after You Ride

Regular maintenance of your motorcycle is necessary to ensure that it is in top shape every time you use it. That is why you have to check it after you take it for a ride. You have to schedule a regular monitoring after using your bike. It can be tiring to check it right after your trip. That is why it is better to rest first since you will not be able to check your motorcycle properly if you are thinking of your bed.

Using the T-CLOCS is the best way to check your motorcycle. This is an acronym provided by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation to help the riders check all the parts of their bike before they leave. It stands for tires, controls, lights, oils, chassis, and stands. You can use this checklist to check the motorcycle after you take it for a spin. This is necessary if you are going to use the motorcycle daily.

Here are some maintenance tips you should do after using your motorcycle:

1. After using your gears, you will take it off and clean it, right? You need to check the men's leather gloves for dirt and possible damage, the same with the other gears. If you do this to your gears, you need to do this to your bike as well. You have to clean it and check it for damages.

2. Follow the T-CLOCS checklist. It is important to check these parts especially if you have been from a rough trip. Check the chassis. Some portion of the frame can have damages from the rough road. Check the wires and cables as well. The trip can cause some of the parts and controls to loosen. Check the oil level as well.

3. If you are going to store your motorcycle for a long time, it is better to do a thorough check up on your motorcycle. If you are going to store it for the winter season, do the following:

a. Follow the T-CLOCS when storing your bike for the winter season. Check everything. Do the same when you prepare to ride it after the cold season is over.

b. Drain the oil from the motorcycle tank. This will prevent the liquid from changing to substances that can damage the internal metal of your oil tank. You can replace it with new oil.

c. Remove the battery from the motorcycle and store it in a warmer room. If you do not want to take your battery out, you can attach a battery tender. The battery tender will ensure that you will not overcharge your battery.

d. Covering your motorcycle is very important. Invest in high quality motorcycle cover. The cover will protect your motorcycle from external factors. In addition, it will keep your motorcycle warm.

Keep in mind that your motorcycle is your responsibility. All the gears that you use for riding are included. Aside from cleaning the men's leather chaps, jackets, boots, gloves, and helmet, you have to check your bike regularly as well. As what most riders say, if you take care of your bike, it will take care of you.
